Symptoms:

TCC codes
TCC lining failure
Overheated converter
Poor converter & cooler oil flow

Cause:

Wear at the valve bore and spools of the lockup timing valve allows critical lube pressure to cross leak to adjacent circuits or escape to the sump. Converter charge and lube/cooler pressure and flow are negatively affected by a worn lockup timing valve.

Correction:

Installing the Sonnax oversized lockup timing valve kit can eliminate lost lube and pressure, restoring OE functionality to the converter charge and lube/cooler circuits.

Honda/Acura 4/5 speed units are known to suffer from poor converter charge, causing converter overheat and leading to clutch lining failure, Code P0740 and poor lube/cooler flow and pressure. Installing the Sonnax oversized lockup timing valve kit 98892-22K can eliminate lost lube and pressure, restoring OE functionality to the converter charge and lube/cooler circuits.
